What are the calories? That whom we fear so much? The ones that
make us gain weight and make us strictly count the food portions?Actually
calories are unit of energy. It is an amount of energy that raises
the temperature of 1 gram of water by 1 Celsius degree.
Calories are not just something to cut of from the daily portion
of food, because calories are used by the human body for well functioning
of the organism. When heart beats, air is pumping in to the lungs
or digestion starts, calories are being used. This is the basal
metabolic rate, also called BMR, the minimum calories the human
body needs to well-function. Therefore, some quantity of calories
is needed to be eaten for the minimal well function of the normal
physiological human body processes.
Calories are found not only in food. Gasoline has also calories.
By burning them, the car has enough energy to run for several miles.
All food groups contain calories. Also drinks have calories. Beer,
juice, soda all have calories, except tab water.
A gram of carbohydrates has 4 calories; one gram of fat has 9 calories,
one gram of alcohol has 7 calories and a gram of protein 4 calories.
The carbohydrates are the preferred energy source of the organism.Although
one calorie of fat is same like one calorie of carbohydrate or protein,
the difference between them consist in the fact that one gram of
fat brings more calorie to the body that one calorie of carbohydrate
or protein.
The consummation of fat beside the great intake of calorie also
is harder to be decomposed and has non benefic effects on the cholesterol
level. The proteins are preferred because they are quickly decomposed
and used by the human body when great effort is done.
Carbohydrates are the preferred source of energy to the body, because
of the quickly way to decomposing to simple sugar and they are immediately
used by the blood, and are transported to the cells. Reduction of
the sugar level from the blood, a state called hypoglycemia, causes
dizzies, head aches or weakness.
Increasing the consummation of sweets, rich in carbohydrate, can
lead in time to diabetes. The quantities of calories listed on the
food package in supermarkets are majority labeled in kilocalories.
One kilocalorie has 1000 calories.
Losing weight by doing physical exercises is also counted in kilocalories.
Knowing this, a person can control the calories ingested, because
the majority of the aliments are a combination of the essential
group food.
After digestion the enzyme of the organism are breaking the carbohydrate
into glucose and other sugar, the proteins into amino acids and
the fats into glycerol and fatty acids, the wholly process being
called metabolism. These macronutrients are after that decomposed
in micronutrients, transported to the cells and there redirected
to the blood and cells and give energy to the body. The calories
that are not consumed are transported to the fat tissue and causes
weight gain. By consuming more calories that are needed by the organism
lead to gain weight and fewer calories ingested lead to losing weight.
Consuming fewer calories than is necessary for the essential process
of the human body can lead to malnutrition, and excess of calories
leads to obesity. There are many diets and physical exercises that
can help you lose weight. The most effective diet is one based on
high-fiber and low fat
The diets that interdict carbohydrates consummations deprive the
human body from an important source of energy, the most effective
one.
Physical exercises, at least half an hour per day, are necessary
to lose weight and stay in good health.A good health and no weight
problems can be achieved by consuming calories, because are very
useful, if they are eaten rationally and no making excesses.
