B
vitamins are a complex of eight vitamins with multiple roles in
the human body. They are involved in production of energy, by breaking
down the carbohydrates into glucose, in erytropoesis, red blood
cell growth, are involved in enzymes synthesis, combat the stress
or depression symptoms. B vitamin complex maintain the good nervous
system, by breaking down fats and proteins, maintain the metabolism
functions and enhance the immune system.
As
happened with others vitamins, also at beginning the B vitamin was
thought to be only one. In time, researchers found out that there
are different chemical substances, all chemical related and founded
in the same foods.
They
were called B vitamin complex.Thiamin or B1 vitamin, Riboflavin
or B2 vitamin, PP vitamin or B3, pantothenic acid or B5, pyridoxine
or B6, biotin or B 7, folic acid or B 9 and vitamin B 12 or Cyanocobalamin
are the vitamins that forms the complex. The daily necessary of B
vitamin varies between 2 nanograms to 19 milligrams. Because the
B vitamins are water soluble, the have to be consumed daily because
they are rapidly eliminated from the body and a B vitamin deficiency
can appear.
Sources
of B vitamin can be found in cereals, vegetables, pork meat, milk,
eggs or liver.
There are also B vitamin supplements that can be taken if there
is deficiency nutrition in some aliments that have B vitamins. The
supplements of B vitamin can cause an increase in potassium blood
level, so the persons that are susceptible at high potassium level
should not take B vitamin supplements without consulting a physician
first.
The
B vitamin deficiency can occur in malnutrition, in malabsorption,
renal diseases, that causes an excessive excretion, or because of
the inappropriate function of some coenzyme that act like transporter
for the vitamins.
B1
deficiency, also called beriberi disease, is leading to a poor glucoses
metabolism and the synthesis of enzymes necessary for the well function
of the nervous system. It will cause depression, weakness and thinner
of the muscle, cardiomyopathy, and a disease affecting the cardiac
muscle or eye problems, by affecting the muscle cordoning the eye
movement.Death caused by heart failure can occur in sever cases
of beriberi.B2 deficiency will cause cracks in the lips, also called
cheilosis, hyperemia, and edema of the oral mucosa.
The
PP or B3 deficiency, also called the 3 D malady, because there are
three major symptoms in this disease: dementation, diarrhea and
dermatitis. PP deficiency can occur because of the foods consumed,
that are without triptofan, an enzyme found in major quantities
in maize.B5 in inappropriate quantities can lead to paresthesia
and acne, but cases are very rarely. Usually there is no clinic
manifestation of pantothenic acid deficiency.
High blood pressure or depression, even anemia is the result of
pyridoxine or B6 deficiency.
B7 or biotin deficiency is more prominent in children in they're
growth period and is rare observed in adults.
In
adults can cause thinning of hair which can lead to total hair loss,
in sever cases. Anemia and stunted growth are the result of folic
acid deficiency or B9 deficiency. The folic acid is important in
DNA synthesis and the development of cells. The most often cases
of folic deficiency are related with chronic alcoholism and malnutrition. The
folic deficiency in pregnant woman can lead to birth malformations.
Biermer anemia or pernicious anemia is the result of B 12 deficiency.
The
major cause of Biermer anemia is the malabsorption of this vitamin,
caused by the deficiency of a glycoprotein from the stomach, involved
in gastric acid secretion. The lack of B12 vitamin will lead to a
deficiency synthesis of others enzymes from the body, causing neurological
symptoms and memory loss. The B vitamin complex is one very important
for our health and aliments that contain B vitamin should not miss
from any meal.

P (2007-08-08 10:47:09) If I am taking Neurobion (B1, B6 & B12) can it raise my blood pressure? I am also taking Glucosamine with Chondriton
| Moderator - Andrew (2007-11-04 15:26:58) For P:Neurobion is a complex of B vitamin used to treat vitamin lack in the body that may appear during pregnancy, different illness; unhealthy nutrition etc. There isn’t any clear information to suggest that Neurobion may cause a raise in blood pressure. The only contraindications of Neurobion are this: it should not be used if the person suffers from Levodopa or if the person shows hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients. It is important to remember that taking to many Neurobion tables; more than the doctor prescribed or more than indicated on the box, it is dangerous and may be harmful for your body and health. You should not take Neurobion until you consult a doctor because if you suffer from any disorder and if you are under treatment this drug may aggravate your illness. If you want any additional information on this subject you can always surf the internet or talk to a doctor.
| astrina (2007-12-21 05:24:03) My mom has been taking neurorubine for her nerves and it has been okay. She then tried neurobion and had severe diarrhea and vomitting after a few hours. Is that a side effect of neurobion? This might be a bit detailed but I would also like to know how neurobion can cause diarrhea/vomitting? Thank you.
